On February 28, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jieyi met with his visiting Croatian counterpart Šimonović. Both sides exchanged views on the UN affairs as well as bilateral cooperation. Director-General Wu Hailong of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also held consultations with Šimonović.
