On June 7, 2022 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev on the sidelines of the third "China+Central Asia" (C+C5) foreign ministers' meeting in Nur-Sultan.

Wang Yi said that China and Kyrgyzstan are friendly neighbors and will remain each other's neighbor. The two countries are linked by mountains and rivers geographically, share common security concerns and have complementary economic advantages. China supports Kyrgyzstan in maintaining political stability, social harmony and sustainable economic development, and has always been the most reliable and long-lasting strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan. China is willing to take the important consensuses reached by the two heads of state as the guidance and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to push forward the continuous development of bilateral relations.

Kulubaev said that the two sides have always treated each other with sincerity, and the maintenance of mutual benefit and friendship between Kyrgyzstan and China is the priority of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. Kyrgyzstan firmly pursues the one-China principle, opposes "Taiwan independence", and firmly supports China's legitimate position on issues related to Xinjiang and Hong Kong. The two sides are willing to work together to implement the important consensuses reached by the two heads of state and strengthen practical cooperation in various fields such as infrastructure, port throughput, local exchanges, health, pandemic response and others.

The two sides agreed to establish a mechanism of local communication and contact, study the issue of establishing additional ports, and ensure the continuous smooth flow of goods through the existing ports; advance the preparation for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and complete the project feasibility study as soon as possible; establish cultural centers in each other's country; facilitate the exchange of personnel.

The two sides believe that China is the largest neighbor and trading partner of Central Asian countries and both sides have extensive common interests. The two sides will build and develop the C+C5 cooperation mechanism on the basis of consolidating bilateral mutual trust.

The two sides believe that countries in the region should work together to meet the challenges posed by the complex changes in international and regional situations, manage their own affairs properly, strengthen solidarity and coordination among neighboring countries and resist attempts to disrupt the region.

The two sides also exchanged views on the Afghan issue and others.
