Li Keqiang Holds Virtual Meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte

On the afternoon of August 23, 2022, Premier Li Keqiang held a virtual meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte at Ziguangge of Zhongnanhai.

Li Keqiang said, China and the Netherlands, both open economies, are each other's important cooperative partner. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands. China attaches great importance to developing China-Netherlands relations, and the two heads of state have exchanged messages of congratulations. China is ready to work with the Netherlands to push for more results in the open and pragmatic China-Netherlands partnership for comprehensive cooperation to the greater benefit of the two peoples.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China is ready to work with the Netherlands to enhance political mutual trust, leverage the two sides' complementary strengths, tap the potential of cooperation, and strengthen dialogue and communication. China also wishes that the two sides will, on the basis of mutual respect and equality, keep deepening practical and open cooperation in fields of economy, trade, transportation, innovation and climate action, and properly manage differences. More Dutch quality agricultural products are welcome to enter the Chinese market, and China is ready to increase number of direct flights while ensuring the pandemic prevention to facilitate personnel  exchanges, communication and cooperation between the two countries.

Li Keqiang stressed that the Netherlands is an important country in Europe. The sound relations and cooperation between China and the Netherlands are beneficial to both sides, and also to the sound and steady development of China-Europe relations.

Rutte said, the Netherlands and China boast unique relations, with constantly deepening friendship between the two countries. The Netherlands is ready to work with China to take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to further strengthen cooperation in bilateral trade, transportation, agriculture, climate action and other fields, promote personnel exchanges, and enhance dialogue and communication in bilateral and multilateral fields, so as to promote better development of Netherlands-China relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
