On November 2, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Deputy Chairman of Sudan's Sovereign Council Malik Agar in Beijing.

Wang Yi said, China and Sudan enjoy a profound traditional friendship and have always trusted and supported each other. Last December, President Xi Jinping and Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan held a fruitful meeting on the sidelines of the first China-Arab States Summit, which charted the course for the in-depth development of China-Sudan strategic partnership. No matter how the situation may change, China will not waver in its position on developing China-Sudan relations. China will continue to support Sudan in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, support Sudan in achieving domestic peace and stability, and support Sudan in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions.

Malik Agar said, China has made great achievements in development under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, which Sudan deeply admires. China has become an example for other developing countries to learn from. Sudan and China enjoy profound traditional friendship and Sudan will firmly push forward the development of bilateral relations and will not be influenced by any external interference. Sudan attaches importance to China's important role in international affairs, appreciates China following the situation in Sudan, and looks forward to China's support in restoring stability, carrying out reconstruction and achieving development in Sudan.

Wang Yi said, the early realization of stability in Sudan not only serves the fundamental interests of the Sudanese people, but is also conducive to regional peace and security. China supports all parties in Sudan in advancing the Sudanese-led political process through dialogue and consultation. China will continue to provide assistance to the best of its ability and believes that the Sudanese people will overcome difficulties and bring the country back to the right track of stability and development.
