Wang Yi Meets with Czech National Security Adviser Tomáš Pojar at the Latter's Request

On November 2, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Czech National Security Adviser Tomáš Pojar in Beijing at the latter's request.

Wang Yi said, China and the Czech Republic have enjoyed traditional friendship. The two countries have established diplomatic relations for more than 70 years, and the two peoples enjoy the bonds of friendship. The Czech Republic is an important country in Central and Eastern Europe. China always views bilateral relations from a long-term and strategic perspective and stands ready to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with the Czech side to promote common development.

Wang Yi stressed that to promote the sound, steady and sustainable development of the relations between China and the Czech Republic, the two sides should first honor each other's political commitments, respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, adhere to non-interference in each other's internal affairs, and safeguard the political foundation of bilateral relations. China hopes that the Czech side can view China's development in a rational and pragmatic manner, promote mutual understanding and carry out mutually beneficial cooperation, which serves the interests of both sides.

Tomáš Pojar said, the Czech side is willing to promote the development of its relations with China with a pragmatic attitude, and is ready to strengthen cooperation, conduct more exchanges and enhance mutual understanding with China to lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of bilateral relations. The Czech side adheres to the one-China policy and will not change this stance. The Czech side attaches importance to China's position on Ukraine and other international and regional issues, and is willing to strengthen communication with China.
