On November 9, 2023, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni on the 70th anniversary of the independence of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Xi Jinping noted that in recent years, the Cambodian people have steadfastly followed a development path suited to their national conditions, and made new achievements in national development. As a traditional friendly neighbor, China will continue to firmly support Cambodia in maintaining stability, promoting development, and improving people's livelihood.

Xi Jinping stressed that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia and the Year of China-Cambodia Friendship, and he and King Norodom Sihamoni, having had cordial meetings in Beijing and Hangzhou, have drawn a blueprint for building the China-Cambodia community with a shared future. President Xi said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Cambodia relations and stands ready to work with King Norodom Sihamoni to strengthen strategic guidance of bilateral relations and jointly build a high-quality, high-level and high-standard China-Cambodia community with a shared future for the new era.

On the same day, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
