Peng Liyuan and Wife of General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Ngo Thi Man Visit the Vietnamese Women's Museum and Have Tea

On the afternoon of December 12, 2023 local time, Mme. Peng Liyuan, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping, visited the Vietnamese Women's Museum and had tea with Mme. Ngo Thi Man, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, in Hanoi at the latter’s invitation.

Ngo Thi Man warmly welcomed Peng Liyuan  as she disembarked from the car upon arrival, and they took a photo in front of the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Statue. Accompanied by Ngo Thi Man, Peng Liyuan toured the Vietnamese women's folk customs exhibition, and heard a presentation on Vietnamese women's marriage customs. She spoke highly of Vietnamese women's virtues of diligence, bravery and endurance.

Peng Liyuan had cordial talks with Ngo Thi Man and representatives of outstanding Vietnamese women, and shared her work in promoting women and children’s causes as a UNESCO special envoy for the advancement of girls' and women's education. Peng Liyuan said that China upholds gender equality and attaches great importance to protecting women's rights, and Viet Nam has many good experience and practices in promoting women's progress, enhancing women's status and protecting women's rights and interests. China and Viet Nam can strengthen exchanges and mutual learning to help more women change their life and realize their personal value.

During the tea time, Peng Liyuan and Ngo Thi Man jointly viewed the display of traditional Vietnamese musical instruments and costumes. Noting the similar cultures and close people-to-people bonds between China and Viet Nam, Peng Liyuan expressed the hope that the two countries will further deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges to write more chapters of the China-Viet Nam friendship.
