On January 23, 2024, Vice President Han Zheng met with President of the National Assembly of Djibouti Dileita Mohamed Dileita in Beijing.

Han Zheng said that during their successful meeting in December 2022, President Xi Jinping and President Ismail Omar Guelleh reached important common understandings on the development of bilateral relations. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Djibouti. Under the guidance of implementing the common understandings of the two heads of state, China is willing to work with Djibouti to strengthen strategic communication, deepen practical cooperation, enhance international coordination, and promote people-to-people exchanges. China supports Djibouti in advancing its Vision Djibouti 2035. Based on the eight major steps to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, China will work with Djibouti to actively promote cooperation in areas such as investment, financing, and infrastructure development, to push for new progress in the strategic partnership between the two countries and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.

Dileita said that Djibouti attaches great importance to relations with China and that investment from and cooperation with Chinese enterprises have contributed to the economic development of Djibouti. Djibouti will continue to firmly abide by the one-China principle, actively participate in Belt and Road cooperation, and deepen cooperation with China in various fields.
