On January 25, 2024, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Ding Xuexiang met with the delegation of executive directors of the World Bank in Beijing.

Ding Xuexiang said that China and the World Bank maintain long-term and sound cooperation in a wide range of areas with fruitful results. China stands ready to work with the World Bank to jointly promote global poverty reduction and sustainable development, strengthen cooperation in areas including climate change response and biodiversity, and make positive contributions to addressing global challenges.

Ding Xuexiang pointed out that over the past year, China's economy has picked up and made solid progress in high-quality development, becoming the biggest engine of world economic growth. China will unswervingly advance Chinese modernization, expand high-standard opening-up, optimize its business environment, actively utilize foreign investment, and continue to inject a strong impetus into global economic development.

The delegation of executive directors of the World Bank said that the World Bank attaches great importance to development cooperation with China and is willing to further deepen the bilateral development partnership.
