On January 14, 2024, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to new Danish King Frederik X on his accession to the throne.

Xi Jinping pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 74 years ago, China-Denmark relations have achieved remarkable development, with fruitful cooperation results in various fields and increasingly deepening friendship between the peoples. Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Denmark relations, and is ready to work with King Frederik X to take the China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights, so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.

On the same day, Xi Jinping also sent regards and blessings to former Danish Queen Margrethe II who abdicated the throne.
