On January 17, 2024, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Felix Tshisekedi on his reelection as President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Xi Jinping noted that the Democratic Republic of the Congo and China enjoy traditional friendship and are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners. In recent years, bilateral relations have developed rapidly with fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation and continuously deepening traditional friendship. Xi Jinping said he is ready to work with President Tshisekedi to deepen political mutual trust, enrich the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, and push for new and greater development of the cooperation between China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
