Han Zheng Meets with President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis

On January 30, 2024, Vice President Han Zheng met with President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis in Beijing.

Han Zheng said that as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, China has always practiced true multilateralism and firmly safeguarded the authority and status of the United Nations. President Xi Jinping has put forward the important vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind as well as the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. China advocates an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and encourages all countries to work together to meet challenges and achieve common prosperity. Noting that next year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Han Zheng said China is ready to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations and join hands with all sides to work for a more just and reasonable global governance system under the guidance of the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Dennis Francis said that China is an important cooperative partner of the United Nations and a staunch force in safeguarding world peace and development. He expressed the expectation that China will play a more important role in promoting sustainable development, advancing international cooperation, addressing global challenges, and other aspects.
