Cai Qi Holds Talks with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee and Permanent Member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat Truong Thi Mai

On December 12, 2023 local time, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Cai Qi held talks with Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and Permanent Member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat Truong Thi Mai in Hanoi.

Cai Qi said that the current trip to Viet Nam by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong shows that China attaches great importance to relations between the two parties and two countries, and that China firmly supports Viet Nam's socialist cause. Top leaders of both parties held formal talks, among a series of important agendas, and both agreed to further deepen and upgrade the China-Viet Nam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and build a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance. The visit will surely become an epoch-making milestone in the history of China-Viet Nam relations, and will have a significant and far-reaching impact on constantly advancing the socialist cause and promoting regional peace and development.

Cai Qi said that China and Viet Nam should step up efforts to study the implementation of important common understandings reached by General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and actively build a community with a shared future between China and Viet Nam. The two sides should jointly adhere to the correct political direction, strengthen party building, and resolutely safeguard the Party leadership and system security. Both sides should deepen the synergy of their respective development strategies and upgrade practical cooperation in the spirit of mutual success and win-win cooperation. China and Viet Nam should encourage news media and trade unions, women's groups, youth and other organizations to deepen exchanges and cooperation, carry forward traditional friendship, and forge closer bonds between the two peoples. Both sides should strengthen cooperation within the framework of the three global initiatives, and coordination and cooperation within multilateral organizations and mechanisms, so as to uphold international fairness and justice, maintain regional peace and stability, and promote the building of a human community with a shared future.

Truong Thi Mai said that the talks between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary Xi Jinping were very successful, which has provided new and important impetus to the development of the relations between the two parties and two countries, and will greatly expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields. The two sides should let inter-party exchanges provide strategic guidance and play a pioneering role, and implement the common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two parties with concrete actions.

Truong Thi Mai said that a Viet Nam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance will promote the well-being of the two peoples and the cause of peace and progress of humanity. Viet Nam firmly supports the three global initiatives proposed by China, believing that these initiatives are in line with the interests of people of all countries and conform to the spirit of the United Nations Charter and international law. The CPV is ready to work with the CPC to utilize the advantages of the socialist system to promote the steady and sustainable development of relations between the two parties and two countries.
