Two days ago, President Xi Jinping paid a historic state visit to Viet Nam and reached important common understandings with Vietnamese leaders on jointly building a China-Viet Nam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, which is of great significance to the building of a China-ASEAN community with a shared future. China has reached important consensus separately with most ASEAN countries on jointly building a community with a shared future, the building of a community with a shared future among Lancang-Mekong countries has continuously deepened and substantiated, and the building of a peaceful, safe and secure, prosperous, beautiful and amicable home has continued to advance. These have provided rich practices for building an even closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future. As the biggest neighbor of ASEAN, China will continue to pursue the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in neighborhood diplomacy, and be ASEAN's trustworthy and reliable long-term comprehensive strategic partner to jointly advance Asia's modernization process and make greater contributions to building an even closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

Wang Yi pointed out that not long ago, with the active mediation and unremitting promotion of the Chinese side, the parties concerned in Myanmar held peace talks in Kunming and signed a temporary ceasefire agreement. The deescalation of the conflict in northern Myanmar is not only in the interests of all parties in Myanmar, but also in the common interests of China, ASEAN and other countries in the region. China will continue to work on stopping the fighting and promoting talks in the region of northern Myanmar, and hopes that all parties in Myanmar will earnestly implement the consensus, exercise maximum restraint, and actively ease the situation on the ground. Wang Yi emphasized that the northern Myanmar issue and the Myanmar issue are essentially Myanmar's internal affairs. The key to solving the Myanmar issue lies in the hands of the Myanmar people. China supports ASEAN in playing its due role on the Myanmar issue and is willing to work with ASEAN countries to promote the proper settlement of the Myanmar issue.
