On June 30, Chen Laiping, Consul & Head of Post was invited to attend the Oath Taking Ceremony of the provincial and municipal officials of Ilocos Norte.

Meeting Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., ex-Governor and newly-elected Congressman and Michael M. Keon, new Governor of Ilocos Norte, Chen congratulated them for winning and looked forward to the successive assistance from the provincial government to promote mutual understanding and cooperations between Ilocos Norte and China.

The two Governors said, the provincial government would continue working with the Consulate to promote the cooperation in trade, agriculture and tourism.

Chen also met the new provincial and municipal officials and accepted the interview of local media.
