On July 27, Chen Laiping, Consul & Head of Post paid a visit to Hon. Deogracias Victor B. Savellano, newly elected Governor of Ilocos Sur. Both parties held a friendly and fruitful meeting.

Congratulating Governor Savellano, Chen was looking forward to further cooperation with the new provincial government, enhancing friendly relations, promoting bilateral exchange and cooperation in trade and economy, agriculture, ocean exploitation. On behalf of Fujian Province, Chen invited Governor Savellano to attend the 11th China International Fair for Investment & Trade.

Governor Savellano said, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur would continue enhancing the friendly relations and mutual understanding with the Consulate. Thanking for  the invitation, Governor Savellano was looking forward to the joint-research in the possibility of developing cooperation in ocean fishery and tobacco leaf with Chinese institutes.
