On December 2, 2007, Chen Laiping, Consul & Head of Post and Zheng Xin, Consular Attaché paid a friendly visit to Province of Cagayan and met Hon. Alvaro T. Antonio, Governor of Cagayan and, Vice Governor Leovides N.Fausto.

Chen recongratulated Gov. Alvaro T. Antonio on winning the election, and said, the Consulate would like to enhance the friendly relations and communication with provincial government of Cagayan, actively explore and promote the prospects for bilateral exchange and cooperation in terms of agriculture, mining industry and etc.

Warmly welcoming the visit of the Consulate, Gov. Alvaro T. Antonio introduced the relevant information of agriculture and mining industry of Cagayan and welcomed Chinese people to invest and do business in the province.

Chen also visited Aparri, a northern town of Cagayan, to inspect the local Filipino Chinese community and their Qi Zhi Chinse School, and presented Chinese books as a gift to the Chinese school.
