Chen laiping visited the Province of Pangasinan

On December 14, Chen Laiping, Consul & Head of post led a delegation to visit province of Pangasinan, warmly received by the provincial government.

During the three-day visit, Chen met Hon. Amado Espino, Governor of Pangasinan, Hon. Mark Cojuangco, Congressman of the 5th district and other provincial officials. Chen also visited Dagupan City, Lingayen City, Urdaneta City, Sual Municipality, San Manuel Municipality, Alaminos Municipality, the provincial aquafarm and power plants, inspected local Chinese communities and the 10 Chinese-teaching volunteers and donated Chinese books to Da Tong middle school, established by local Filipino Chinese.

Welcoming the delegation, Gov. Espino introduced the geographic advantage of Pangasinan and relative information of provincial agriculture, mining industry and tourism. He highly spoke of the splendid achievements of China in economic and social development and looked forward to exploring and developing promising fields of cooperation with Chinese sides, particularly a certain Chinese province, in order to attract Chinese investments to develop local agriculture, food processing and tourism.

Chen thanked for the hospitality of Gov. Espino and said, Pangasinan, which enjoyed a large population, a vast territory and hardworking people, was an important province of the Philippines and deserved a bright future of development. The Consulate was willing to serve as a bridge, actively promoting and introducing the rich natural resources and great potential of development to Chinese entrepreneurs and widening their knowledge of Pangasinan. The consulate would also keep in touch with provincial government to jointly explore fields for cooperation. Chen suggested that the provincial government conduct self-promotion, actively look for Chinese investors and partners and participate the yearly Canton Fair in Guangzhou and the China International Fair for Investment & Trade in Xiamen.
