Consul and Head of Post Wang Jianqun Attended the Celebration Activities of New Year of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ilocos Norte

On January 1st, 2017, Consul and Head of Post Wang Jianqun and her husband were invited to the celebration activities of the New Year held by the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ilocos Norte. More than 60 members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as their family members, the principal and volunteer teachers from the local Chinese school also participated in the activities.

On behalf of the Chamber, President Mary Ang gave a warm welcome to Consul Wang and her husband for attending the New Year celebrations especially not long after their arrival in Laoag City. She briefly talked about the achievements over the past year by the Chamber and its close relations with the Chinese Consulate. She said that the Chamber was ready to work more closely with the Chinese Consulate in 2017 to find ways to preserve the Chinese traditions and culture and make positive contribution to the exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the Philippines and China at the local levels.

In her response, Consul Wang Jianqun said it was a great pleasure to celebrate the New Year's Day together with so many members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Although arrived in Laoag not long ago, she had already felt the passion, the friendship as well as the entrepreneurship of the overseas Chinese in this charming province. Consul Wang commended the Chamber for its contribution to developing friendly relations and cooperation between China and the Philippines and thanked for its support and assistance to the Consulate. Consul Wang told the participants that the recent visit to China by President Duterte was a great success. China and the Philippines were faced with new opportunities for cooperation to our mutual benefit. In the new year, the Chinese Consulate in Laoag would strengthen cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as other entities to jointly promote the healthy and steady development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
