Consul and Head of Post Wang Jianqun Visits with Leaders of the Chinese Associations

In the past weeks before and after January 28th, 2017 which was the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day, Consul and Head of Post of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag Mme. Wang Jianqun paid home visits to some leaders of the Chinese associations in Ilocos Norte and extended her New Year greetings. Among the leaders visited include Mme. Mary Ang, President of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ilocos Norte), Mr. John Chua, Honorary President of the Chamber, Mr. Dave Pascual, President of Philippine-Chinese Amity Club (Ilocos Norte), Mme. Linda Co, Principal of St. Santiago Chinese School and Mr. Tony Co, formerVicePresident of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ilocos Norte).

During these visits, Consul Wang commended the leaders of the Chinese associations for their good work in providing voluntary service to the Chinese community. She shared views with them on how to improve the wellbeing of the Chinese or Filipino-Chinese so that they could live in harmony with the local people and make their due contribution to the economic development of the province. Consul Wang wished a happy Chinese New Year of the Rooster full of good health and prosperity. She committed herself of working closely with the various Chinese associations to further develop the friendly relations and cooperation between China and the Philippines and provide thoughtful and satisfactory service to the Chinese community.

Leaders of various Chinese associations thanked Consul Wang for the visit and reciprocated their New Year greetings. They shared their experience of working and living in Ilocos Norte and expressed their willingness to support Consul Wang and the Chinese Consulate in their efforts to strengthen ties with provinces and cities in the consular area.
