Consul and Head of Post to Laoag Mme. Wang Jianqun Visited the Province of Ilocos Sur

At the invitation of the Hon. Ryan Luis V. Singson, Governor of the Province of Ilocos Sur, Consul and Head of Post to Laoag Mme. Wang Jianqun paid a visit to Vigan, the capital city of the Province on August 2nd, 2017.

During the visit, Consul and Head of Post Mme. Wang Jianqun had a cordial meeting with the Hon. Governor Ryan Singson at the Provincial Capitol. The two sides exchanged views on the current China-Philippine relationship and possible cooperation between China and the Province of Ilocos Sur in the fields of agriculture, agricultural machinery and tourism. They all agreed that the current bilateral relationship between China and the Philippines was moving on the right track which would bring benefits to both sides. The Hon. Vice Governor Sir Jeremias Singson and five Board Members of the Province were present at the meeting. After the meeting, Consul and Head of Post Mme. Wang Jianqun received interview by ABS-CBN, PTV and IHC.

Consul and Head of Post Mme. Wang Jianqun also met with leaders and representatives of the local Filipino-Chinese community. In her remarks, Consul and Head of Post Mme. Wang Jianqun briefed them on China-Philippine relationship, China's new development and thanked the local Filipino-Chinese community for their contribution to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and the Filipinos. She wished the Filipino-Chinese community continued success in their business and other endeavors.

In the afternoon, Consul and Head of Post Mme. Wang Jianqun visited the Vigan Chinese School. She was warmly received by the school master, faculty and students. Consul and Head of Post Mme. Wang Jianqun wished the students success in their studies of the Chinese language. She also met with the volunteer teachers from China.
