Chinese Consul and Head of Post to Laoag Mme. Wang Jianqun Attended the Mid-Autumn celebrations with the Filipino-Chinese Community

On September 30th, 2017, the Chinese Consul and Head of Post to Laoag Mme. Wang Jianqun attended the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations hosted by the Filipino-Chinese community organizations of Ilocos Norte in cooperation with the Chinese Consulate in Laoag. The Hon. Governor Imee Marcos, leaders of the Filipino-Chinese community organizations, Chinese Consulate staff and local Chinese and Filipino-Chinese attended the event.

 

In her remarks, Consul Wang expressed her warm greetings and best wishes to the Hon. Governor and the whole Chinese and Filipino-Chinese community in the consular district for an auspicious Mid-Autumn Festival. “Tomorrow October 1st will be the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. And four days later October 4th will mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. This will be indeed a ‘Double Happiness’”. she said. Consul Wang pointed out that Mid-Autumn Festival was the occasion to celebrate harvest. Over the past year, China made new remarkable social and economic development. China-Philippines relations achieved overall turnaround. Exchanges and cooperation between China and Ilocos Norte made new progress. Chinese and Filipino-Chinese community in the consular district became more prosperous and more integrated with the local people. The Chinese Consulate in Laoag provided satisfactory service to the public including the Chinese and Filipino-Chinese community. Consul Wang wished everyone new success in their business endeavors.

 

The Hon. Governor Imee Marcos made warm remarks at the function and praised the local Chinese and Filipino-Chinese community for their contribution to the provincial economy. “ Middle and small businesses are the backbone of Ilocos Norte’s economy. The Chinese and Filipino-Chinese community worked hard day in and day out. They have made due contribution to the economy of the province to which we are very grateful.” she said. The Governor expressed satisfaction on the new progress of relations and cooperation with China and wished Consul Wang and the whole Chinese and Filipino-Chinese community an enjoyable festival.
