The Chinese Consul and Head of Post to Laoag Mme. Wang Jianqun met with Mayor Mauricio Domogan of Baguio City, Mayor Jerry Dalipog of the Municipality of Banaue and Mayor James Pooten Jr. of the Municipality of Sagada on June 8, 11 and 12, 2018 respectively. The two sides exchanged views on developing friendly relations and cooperation between Chinese cities and Baguio, Banaue and Sagada.
Consul Wang briefed the Mayors on the current China-Philippines relations. She told them that China attached importance to furthering the friendly relations and cooperation with the Philippines at the city level. The Chinese Consulate in Laoag would like to explore the possibility of opening up new areas of cooperation with their city or municipalities.
The Mayors welcomed Consul Wang for the visit and briefed her about their city or municipalities and their respective development priorities and needs. They told Consul Wang that they were deeply impressed by the fast growth of China's economy and would like to work with her in expanding the friendly exchanges and cooperation with Chinese counterparts in the fields of agriculture, education and tourism. |
