On July 10, 2019, Consul & Head of Post Zhou Youbin visited the Provincial Capitol of Cagayan Province, and met with Hon. Rodolfo G. Alvarado, the Provincial Administrator of the province. The Chief-of-Staff of the Governor's Office Atty. Charo Mamba-Villaflor and heads of departments were present. The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation.

 

 

Alvarado said that though Governor Mamba could not meet Consul Zhou due to a meeting in Manila, he was entrusted to represent the Governor. Governor Mamba thanked China for the support and assistance in the areas of disaster relief, irrigation, and other areas that benefit the people. Governor has always attached importance to the friendship with China, and learning from China's successful governance model. The new provincial government will work together with the Consulate to attract more Chinese investors and tourists.

 

 

 

Consul Zhou thanked for the warm reception. He said, the province is close to China  across the sea. Both sides can deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields under the Belt and Road Initiative framework. He hoped provincial government continued to care for and support the overseas Chinese working and living in the province. Chinese Consulate in Laoag is committed to promoting local level exchanges and cooperation between China and the Philippines.
