On July 15, 2019, Head of Post & Consul to Laoag, Zhou Youbin, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc at the Provincial Capitol of Ilocos Norte. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on bilateral relations, Chinese Garden Construction and further cooperation. 

 

 

Consul Zhou congratulated Governor Manotoc on his assumption of office. He said, China-Philippine relations had entered a new golden era under the leadership of two Heads of States , which pointed out the development direction and opened up new prospects for local friendship and cooperation. Ilocos Norte has a long history of exchanges with China, and can seize the opportunity during the linkage between China's 'Belt and Road' Initiative and Philippine's 'Build, Build, Build' plan. He thanked Governor for attaching importance to the the friendship with China and invited him to visit China, especially the sisterhood Shandong Province. 

 

 

Governor Manotoc thanked for Consul Zhou's invitation, and expressed his expectation to visit China. He said that the new Provincial Government will continue to work together with Chinese Consulate to promote further friendly exchanges.
