Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos visits Shandong Province

With the invitation of Shandong Governor Jiang Daming, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos led a delegation to visit Shandong Province, Chinea from July 23 to July 28, 2011.

Governor Jiang Daming met with Imee Marcos and delegation in Jinan. Governor Jiang said that Shandong Province and Ilocos Norte have a long history of exchanges, and since their establishment of sister province relations in 2002, the economic and trade exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly close. Shandong Province attaches great importance in cooperating with Southeast Asian countries and strongly encouraged enterprises to explore the market and develop resources. Ilocos Norte is rich in fishery, agriculture and mineral resources and is highly complementary to Shandong's economy, so there is great potential for cooperation between the two provinces.

Governor Marcos thanked Shandong Province for the warm welcome and added that she would make more efforts to promote their cooperation in agricultural product processing, new energy utilization, mineral exploration, infrastructure construction and labor service export for the benefit of the two provinces.
