On August 6, 2021, Consul & Head of Post of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag Zhou Youbin together with Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc attended the donation ceremony of anti-pandemic medical supplies for the province.

Recently the COVID-19 situation in the province has become more severe with the surge of confirmed cases and shortage of medical supplies. Upon the request of Governor Manotoc, the Consulate immediately purchased a batch of medical beds, wheelchairs and medicines in the local area and donated themto the provincial government to support the local government units and designated hospitals against their fight with the pandemic.
