On March 4th, Consul & Head of Post Zhou Youbin visited the newly appointed Provincial Director PCOL Julius C. Suriben of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO). Together with them were Deputy Director for Administration PLTCOL Renante Baltazar, Deputy Director for Operation PLTCOL Randy Baoit, other departments heads and police lawyer.

PCOL Suriben warmly welcomed Consul Zhou to the headquarters of INPPO. He said that during his previous work with the National Capital Region Police Office, he had maintained a good relation with the Chinese Embassy and its officials, hence it’s a great pleasure to meet with Consul Zhou and other officials of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag.

He thanked the Consulate for its support to the police office, especially in providing anti-pandemic materials which have effectively helped police personnel all throughout the province who are on the front line to deal with the pandemic.

Consul Zhou congratulated PCOL Suriben on his appointment and thanked the INPPO for its long-term support and assistance to Chinese citizens, enterprises and to the Consulate. He added that the Consulate will continue to maintain communication and cooperation with the police in handling public security, counter-terrorism, kidnapping and other cases involving Chinese citizens and enterprises.

Consul Zhou added that the Consulate will continue to support the capacity-building of the police office of Ilocos Norte as well as in continuing to help in fighting against the pandemic.
