On June 7, Consul and Head of Post Zhou Youbin, Vice Governor of Ilocos Norte Cecilia Araneta Marcos, Head of the Social Welfare and Development Office of Ilocos Norte Corazon Lilian Celia Rin and President of Filipino-Chinese Amity Club Ilocos Norte Chapter Michael Ang attended the ceremony of donating 15 sets of beds and bedding to the Tahanang Carmela D'Amore.

At the donation ceremony, Consul Zhou said that the upcoming June 9th marks the 47th anniversary of the establishment of China-Philippines diplomatic relations and the 21st anniversary of the establishment of China-Philippines Friendship Day. To celebrate this meaningful moment, I am very happy to donate 15 sets of beds and bedding to the Carmela D'Amore, contributing to the health and happiness of the children.

Consul Zhou reiterated that the Chinese Consulate in Laoag will continue to help Ilocos Norte to fight the COVID-19 and restore the economy, and promote friendly exchanges and cooperation with China.

Vice Governor Cecilia thanked the Consulate for its strong support to Ilocos Norte, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The donated anti-pandemic materials helped local people, and the donated "food packs" helped poor families to get through.

Sr. M. Celeste Zamayla, Head of the Center, thanked the Consulate for its generous donation, and believed that the new beds and bedding would greatly facilitate the children's life and growth.

The students of Center performed wonderful playing of instruments and singing to show their welcome and thanks to the distinguished guests, Consul Zhou Youbin and Vice Governor Cecilia.
