Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang Visits Mayor of Baguio City

On November 21, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag paid a courtesy visit to Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong. The two sides had friendly discussions on promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Baguio City in the fields of tourism, energy and education.

Mayor Magalong led all the City Councilors in giving a warm welcome the new Head Consul in the Baguio City Hall Plaza and congratulated him on his assumption of office. Magalong thanked the Consulate for its strong support for the construction of the Baguio Filipino Chinese Garden, and looks forward to continuing to strengthen the cooperation with the Consulate, especially in further promoting their relations with its sister city, Hangzhou, and achieve new results.

On his part, Consul Ren introduced the current situation of China's domestic economic and social development. He likewise praised Baguio for its rich tourism resources, living up to its famous title as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. In addition, Consul Ren assured that the Consulate will continue to be a bridge to promote practical cooperation between China and Baguio City in various fields.

The leaders of the local Chinese community in Baguio joined the meeting.
