On November 21, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag paid a courtesy visit to  Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas, and had a friendly discussion in promoting local exchanges and cooperation between China and the Philippines.

Consul Ren expressed his sympathy to Benguet Province, which has been recently hit by earthquakes and typhoons.He also introduced the recent economic and social development of China. He added that China and the Philippines are good neighbors, good friends and good partners, and emphasized that the current China-Philippine relations are facing new development opportunities.

He also assured that the Chinese Consulate in Laoag will continue to cooperate with the provincial government to promote new progress in local exchanges and cooperation with China.

Governor Diclas warmly welcomed the appointment of the new Head Consul and his visit to Benguet. He also thanked the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines and the Consulate in Laoag for the earthquake relief materials, and hopes to receive more support and help.

The Chief of Civil Service of Benguet provincial government, and leaders of the local Chinese community joined the meeting.
