On November 22, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag paid a courtesy visit to Ilocos Sur Governor Jerry Singson. The two sides had a friendly discussion on promoting cooperation between Ilocos Sur and China.

Consul Ren firstly expressed his sympathy to Ilocos Sur, which has been hit by earthquakes and typhoons recently. He also introduced the current situation of China's economic and social development.

Further, Consul Ren affirmed that the Chinese Consulate in Laoag will continue to support the Province of Ilocos Sur to make new progress in exchanges and cooperation with China, especially to promote the relationship between Ilocos Sur and its sister province, Hubei Province, to achieve new results.

Governor Singson welcomed Consul Ren’s assumption of office and his visit to the province. He also extended his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines and the Consulate in Laoag for providing earthquake relief materials during difficult times.

The governor together with provincial board members,other provincial officials, as well as leaders from Vigan City, hosted a banquet for Consul Ren and his party.
