Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang Meets with the Filipino-Chinese Community in Baguio City

From November 20 to 21, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag visited Baguio City. Along with this, he met with the Baguio Filipino-Chinese Communityleaders and Chinese students.

In his visit, the Consul was welcomed by local Chinese leaders led byPresident Peter Ngof Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community Executive Committee, Chairman Fernando Tiongof Baguio Patriotic High School , and representatives of Chinese students Wang Taiyu and  Wang Feng.

Consul Ren highly praised the Baguio Filipino-Chinese communities for inheriting and carrying forward the excellent tradition of patriotism and love for the country. He added that the Filipino-Chinese communities had made positive contributions in promoting the China-Philippines friendship over the years, and in enhancing local exchanges, as well asmutual understanding and friendship between people of the two countries.

Moreover, he assured that the Consulate will continue to actively support their associations and will effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the Chinese citizens in the locality.

President Peter Ng and Chairman Fernando Tiong warmly welcomed the arrival and visit of Consul Ren, and they expressed the willingness of the Filipino-Chinese communities in Baguio City to continue to support the work of the Consulate and continue to exert efforts to promote China-Philippines friendship and local economic development.

Consul Ren also visited Baguio Filipino-Chinese Friendship Park, Baguio Patriotic High School, Baguio Museum and other cultural and educational places, and exchanged views with school board members and other local Chinese leaders to improve the operation of Chinese schools and promoting Chinese culture.
