Upon the invitation of the Huangshan city government of Anhui Province, a delegation from city government of Laoag, the capital city of Ilocos Norte, led by Mayor Michael Marcos Keon and Vice Mayor Rey Carlos Fariñas visited Huangshan City from June 7 to 11.

During their stay, Mayor Keon and officials from Huangshan City signed a memorandum of friendly exchanges and cooperation to carry out exchanges and cooperation in tourism development, heritage protection, cultural exchanges and other fields to promote mutual development.

Mayor Keon was also invited to attend the 2023 Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) Local Government and Sister City Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum, and the RCEP Member State Cultural Tourism Industry Cooperation Symposium where he delivered a speech.

When the delegation was about to depart, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of Chinese Consulate in Laoag went to Laoag International Airport to see them off.
