On June 27, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag met with Ilocos Norte Second District Representative Angelo Marcos Barba in Batac City. The two sides exchanged views on deepening the friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Ilocos Norte.

Consul Ren introduced the current situation of China-Philippines relations, especially the recent visits of delegations from Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, and Laoag City to China. He also thanked Congressman Barba for his support to the work of the Consulate and assured to continue to work together to promote China-Philippines friendship and cooperation.

Congressman Barba warmly welcomed Consul Ren’s visit to his district office. He expressed his willingness to cooperate with the Consulate, and to further deepen the exchanges in various fields especially in promoting livelihood for the people. The congressman also happily recalled his visit to China when he was the Vice Governor of Ilocos Norte, and looks forward to visiting China again in the near future.
