Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang Visits Abra Province

On July 3, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiangof the Chinese Consulate in Laoag visited the province of Abra, and met with Governor Dominic Valera, Vice Governor Maria Jocelyn Valera-Bernos, provincial board members, and Mayor of Bangued, the provincial capital. The two sides exchanged views onstrengthening friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Abra.

Governor Valera warmly welcomed Consul Ren and his party to the provincial capitol, and extended his gratitude to the Chinese Consulate for its timely support and assistance in disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction of the province after it was hit by an earthquake last year. He added that he is looking forward to exploring more cooperation opportunities with China, especially in agriculture and other fields.

Meanwhile, Consul Ren assured that the Consulate will continue to work together with the provincial government of Abra and its people from all walks of life to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state of China and the Philippines, and to further promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Abra.

Consul Renalso visited the Filipino-Chinese communities in Abra and conducted a meaningful discussion with members of the AbraFilipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
