On September 21, the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in Laoag held a reception at Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel in celebration of the 75th Founding Anniversary of the People's Republic of China. More than 300 guests from different sectors and provinces attended the said event. This includes Governor Jeremias Singson of the Province of Ilocos Sur, Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos of the Province of Ilocos Norte, Vice Governor Melvin Vargas Jr. of Cagayan Province, as well as representatives from the Filipino-Chinese Community, the Chinese enterprises, and the Chinese students.

During his speech, Consul and Head of Post Ren Faqiang looked back on the great achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) over the past 75 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Consul Ren also introduced the latest development of China and the achievements from the friendly exchanges between China and Northern Luzon.

Governor Jeremias Singson and other distinguished guests also delivered their speeches respectively, commending the traditional ties of friendship between China and the Philippines, as well as the achievements of China's development. The Filipino-Chinese leaders also delivered their remarks, wishing the prosperity and flourishing of both China and the Philippines.
