Mountain Province is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its capital is Bontoc.

It was formerly referred to as Mountain in some foreign references. The name is also incorrectly shortened by locals to Mt. Province, which in turn is read by native Anglophones as "Mount Province". The province was named so for being in the Cordillera Central mountain range found in the upper realms of Luzon island.

Mountain Province is tagged as "Weaver's Paradise" because of the different weaving centers that create unique designs which indicate the province's cultural heritage. Various woven materials like knapsacks, bags, purses, placemats, linen, belts, blankets and native costumes are being made in these different weaving houses.

It is considered to be one of the most interesting places to explore, not only because of its spectacular sights but also because of the culture and tradition of its people which remained intact despite of Spanish and American influences. Mountain Province has a clear and serene view of the mountains, smell the fresh air sweetly scented by pine trees, be captivated by the colourful woven native costumes and see one of the most sought after tourist attractions which is the hanging coffins.

GEOGRAPHY: Mountain Province is bounded in the east by Isabela, in the north by the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao and Abra, in the south of Benguet and Ifugao, and in the west by the province of Ilocos Sur.

It has an area of 215,738 hectares (533,100 acres), with 83% mountainous while 17% make up hills and levels.

LANGUAGE: Known by many as the "KAIGOROTAN", Mountain Province has a lot to offer, from native food delicacies to tourist destinations, La Montañosa boasts of being the first province to be evangelized by the american missionaries and so most of its people particulary, the elders could speak english.

Aplai is the major dialect. The inhabitants could also speak Ilocano and Filipino.

RELIGION: Anglicanism predominates in the province with approximately 60% adherence with the other religions such as Roman Catholicism, Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Iglesia Filipina Indepiendente, Iglesia ni Cristo and Free Believers.

Mountain Province is the only predominate Protestant province in the Philippines.
