Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang Pays Farewell Calls on Dignitaries and Friends in Northern Luzon

From October 13 to 16, 2025, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in Laoag paid separate farewell calls on Ilocos Norte Gov. Cecilia A. Marcos, Vice Gov. Matthew M. Manotoc and Mayor Bonoan of San Nicolas, and delivered a farewell speech at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Board, where he was honored with a Resolution of Commendation. Ren also paid farewell calls on other dignitaries and friends in Northern Luzon in multiple ways.

Ren expressed his gratitude to all sectors in the consular district for their strong support to the consulate. He said that over the past three years, local cooperation between China and the Philippines has brought tangible benefits to the people of both countries. The Chinese Consulate will continue to engage in friendly exchanges and deepen cooperation in various fields in Northern Luzon to promote people-to-people ties.

Gov. Cecilia and other dignitaries highly appreciated Ren for his unremitting efforts in promoting practical and friendly cooperation between the two countries. Local governments in Northern Luzon would continue working with the Chinese Consulate to carry forward the 50-year friendship and to further promote exchanges and cooperation. 

Vice Mayor Fariñas of Laoag City and the city councilors appreciated Ren for his contributions to China-Philippines friendship during his three-year tenure with a Resolution of Commendation passed by the Laoag City Council on September 30.

On October 19, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang concludes his assignment and has returned to China.
