On January 22, 2024, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met with Politburo Member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune in Beijing.

Wang Huning said that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to work with the LFNC Central Committee to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the top leaders of the two parties and countries, build and make good use of a mechanism and platform for cooperation, and inject more positive energy into the steady and long-term development of a China-Laos community with a shared future.

Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune said that Laos has all long firmly adhered to the one-China principle, and attached great importance to the building of a Laos-China community with a shared future. Laos is willing to strengthen exchanges and communication as well as experience sharing with the CPPCC National Committee, enhance the public support of the two countries, and make new contributions to the further development of bilateral relations.

After the meeting, Wang Huning and Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune jointly attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the CPPCC National Committee and the LFNC Central Committee.
