Asking Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, Holness said that China did not hesitate to lend a helping hand when Jamaica encountered difficulties, and the practical cooperation between the two sides has strongly supported Jamaica's economic development and improvement of people's lives, which vividly demonstrated China's sincere will to help developing countries. Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings, noting that China appreciates Jamaica's firm adherence to the friendly policy towards China and the one-China principle, and thanks Jamaica for understanding and supporting China in safeguarding its core interests. The long-term, sound and stable development of China-Jamaica relations is attributed to the mutual respect and mutual support that both sides have all long maintained. China advocates that all countries, big or small, are equal, and supports greater democracy in international relations. China never interferes in other countries' internal affairs, engages in geopolitical rivalry or forces other countries to pick sides. China respects Jamaica's choice of a system and way of life with its own characteristics, and supports Jamaica in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and national dignity and playing a more important role in regional and international affairs.

Wang Yi said, Jamaica was among the first Caribbean countries to sign a memorandum of understanding on Belt and Road cooperation with China and the first country in the Western Hemisphere to sign the Belt and Road cooperation plan. The Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful results and enjoys broad prospects. China looks forward to strengthening the synergy of development strategies with Jamaica, expanding cooperation in economy, trade and investment, new energy, agriculture, digital economy and blue economy, among others, strengthening people-to-people and cultural exchanges and consolidating public support for China-Jamaica friendship. Briefing the Jamaican side on China's development achievements and centenary goals, Wang Yi said that China is accelerating Chinese modernization and is willing to provide a useful reference for developing countries that hope to achieve rapid development while maintaining independence. The two sides can share experience in state governance and achieve common development.

Jamaica admires China's remarkable development achievements and looks forward to learning from China's successful experience to achieve more efficient and equitable development. Noting he has witnessed China's adherence to the principle of equality and treating small and medium-sized countries sincerely, Holness firmly believes that China will continue to play a leading role in responding to global challenges. Jamaica looks forward to China's continued support on issues such as enhancing the resilience of small island states in coping with climate change.
