On February 16, 2024 local time, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh at the latter's request on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Wang Yi said that China and Mongolia are good neighbors and partners linked by mountains and rivers. President Xi Jinping and President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh have reached important common understandings on consolidating the foundation for a community with a shared future between the two countries and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, charting the course for further development of bilateral relations. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia diplomatic relations, the 30th anniversary of the revision of the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between China and Mongolia, and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership. The two sides should take this opportunity to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, understand and support each other on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, consolidate political mutual trust, and increase exchanges in various fields. China appreciates that Mongolia has placed the development of its relations with China as a priority in its diplomacy, and is ready to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with Mongolia, deepen exchanges of experience on state governance, and fully tap the potential for cooperation, so as to promote the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level and achieve common development and prosperity.

Battsetseg Batmunkh said that Mongolia cherishes its friendship with China and is ready to strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and push for more achievements in bilateral relations.
