On May 29, Chen Laiping, Consul & Head of Post was invited to have a meeting with the Governor of Ilocos Norte, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and his first lady, Lisa. During the meeting, Chen again expressed his warmest gratitude to the Governor and to the provincial government for the valuable support and assistance rendered for the preparations of the Consulate. Meanwhile, Chen congratulated Governor Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for being elected Congressman of the 1st District of Ilocos Norte.

The two parties also discussed and exchanged ideas regarding the future cooperations between China and Ilocos Norte in terms of trade and economy, agriculture, tourism, and other fields.
