On December 5, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Li Hui met with Armenia's new Ambassador to China Vahagn Movsisian, extending his welcome to Movsisian for taking his new office in China. Li said the Chinese Foreign Ministry will offer support and assistance for Movsisian to do his duty, adding that China will continue joint efforts with Armenia to push forward bilateral friendly cooperative ties.

Movsisian said he was deeply honored to take office as ambassador to China and was ready to make unremitting efforts to push for bilateral ties. Armenia attaches importance to ties with China and adheres to the one-China policy, he said, expressing hope that both sides will deepen cooperation on politics, economy and trade and humanities.
