Chinese Consulate in Laoag Holds a Youth Open Day Event
On June 10, Chinese Consulate in Laoag held an Open Day event for young students of the Confucius Classroom at Paoay National High School in Ilocos Norte. Consul & Head of Post Li Xiaoyan, Principal Dr. Macadangdang, and 20 teachers and students who had taken part in the Minnan 2026 Philippine Youth Cultural Study Camp in Zhangzhou, Fujian attended the event.

Consul Li congratulated the teachers and students of Paoay National High School on the successful completion of their study tour to China and noted that the Open Day coincided with the 25th China-Philippines Friendship Day (June 9) and the UN International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations (June 10). She expressed the hope that the students would share their wonderful study tour experience in China with their families, classmates and friends, and by telling the true China they have seen, help more people feel the warmth of China-Philippines friendship.
Dr. Macadangdang and student representatives delivered speeches, sharing their experiences and reflections from the study tour in China. They expressed their commitment to becoming inheritors of the friendship between the two countries and introducers of mutual learning among civilizations.
During the Open Day, Li also presented awards to students who had won prizes in the "China in My Eyes" Short Video & Essay Competition organized by the Chinese Consulate.
