Li Qiang Meets with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov

On the morning of October 25, 2023 local time, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek.

Li Qiang said that Kyrgyzstan is an important close neighbor of China. In May this year, President Xi Jinping and President Sadyr Japarov elevated China-Kyrgyzstan relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era, and jointly announced the building of a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future of good neighborliness and shared prosperity, which is of milestone significance in the history of relations between the two countries and has further shown a clear direction for the development of relations and cooperation between the two sides. China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to comprehensively implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, push for new and greater development of cooperation between the two sides in various fields, and build a China-Kyrgyzstan community that is more solid, more vibrant and more productive, so as to better benefit the people of the two countries.

Li Qiang pointed out that China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to deepen political mutual trust, and always firmly support each other on important issues involving respective core interests. The two sides should further align development strategies, deepen a convergence of economic interests, and constantly elevate the quality and efficiency of cooperation between the two countries. The two sides should take high-quality Belt and Road cooperation as the mainstay to further leverage industrial complementary advantages, expand the scope and scale of economic and trade cooperation, safeguard the stability of industrial and supply chains, foster multi-dimensional and diversified connectivity, and start the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway at an early date. The two sides should strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges in tourism, localities, women and the youth, among other fields, and increase mutual understanding and affinity between the peoples. The two sides should continue to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation, and jointly safeguard the secure and stable development environment. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Kyrgyzstan on regional and international affairs, step up efforts to implement the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit, enhance coordination within such multilateral frameworks as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and safeguard the common interests of developing countries and international fairness and justice.

Sadyr Japarov said that in May this year, he and President Xi Jinping reached important common understandings on developing a comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era between the two countries and building a Kyrgyzstan-China community with a shared future. Kyrgyzstan-China relations have maintained a strong momentum of development. Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China on issues concerning China's core interests. Kyrgyzstan is ready to maintain close exchanges with China at all levels, consolidate good-neighborliness and friendship, advance Belt and Road cooperation, and expand cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, connectivity and people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Kyrgyzstan is ready to deepen cooperation with China within the frameworks of China-Central Asia and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, jointly combat the three forces of terrorism, separatism and extremism, effectively respond to traditional and non-traditional security challenges, and promote regional security and development.
