Li Qiang Meets with Cambodian Prime Minister Kitti Tesaphibal Bindit Hun Manet

On the afternoon of September 6, 2023 local time, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with Cambodian Prime Minister Kitti Tesaphibal Bindit Hun Manet on the sidelines of the leaders' meetings on East Asia cooperation in Jakarta.

Li Qiang said that the China-Cambodia relationship has withstood the evolving international landscape and remains rock-solid and unbreakable, setting an example for a new type of international relations. China is a trustworthy cooperation partner of Cambodia, and will, as always, firmly support Cambodia in pursuing a development path suited to its own national conditions, and in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests. The two sides should strengthen friendly exchanges, further synergize development strategies, and promote common development. Taking the negotiation of the signing of a new act plan to build a China-Cambodia community with a shared future as an opportunity, the two countries should make all-round plans for China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperation, so as to contribute to Cambodia's prosperity, development, and long-term stability. Both sides should continue to work together to uphold the ASEAN centrality and keep regional cooperation in the right direction.

Hun Manet said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China 65 years ago, bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful results. China is Cambodia's good friend and trustworthy partner. The new government of Cambodia will continue to adhere to the principles and framework of Cambodia-China relations and work with the Chinese side to push for further development of bilateral cooperation in various fields on the basis of bilateral friendly relations jointly built by Cambodia's former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and President Xi Jinping.
