On the morning of September 8, 2023 local time, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council held talks with Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Jakarta.

Li Qiang first conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to President Joko Widodo. Li Qiang said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Indonesia relations have maintained a strong momentum of development. Noting President Xi Jinping's meeting with President Joko Widodo in Chengdu over a month ago, Li Qiang said the two presidents have reached new important common understandings on how to turn the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future into reality. China is ready to work with Indonesia to implement the important common understandings between the two heads of state, seek greater synergy of development strategies, promote the common development of the two countries, and inject enduring impetus into regional stability and prosperity.

First, the two sides should continuously deepen strategic mutual trust and cement the political foundation for building a community with a shared future. It is important to bear in mind their own fundamental and long-term interests, step up mutual support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, jointly address various risks and challenges, continuously expand exchanges at all levels, and harness the roles of the China-Indonesia High-level Dialogue Cooperation Mechanism and other mechanisms between the two countries. The two sides should learn from and contribute to each other, and forge ahead hand in hand in their respective modernization drives.

Second, the two sides should constantly expand practical cooperation and tighten the bond of interests in building a community with a shared future. China is ready to make all-out efforts with Indonesia in preparations for the official operation of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, and build the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and "Two Countries, Twin Parks" into new flagship projects of Belt and Road cooperation. China is ready to work with Indonesia to pursue the high-quality implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership. China will expand imports of Indonesian bulk commodities and quality agricultural and fishery products, and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Indonesia. China supports Indonesia in developing its new capital and stands ready to accelerate fostering "new engines" for cooperation such as the digital economy and green development, and further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in agriculture, medicine and health, youth, education, culture, tourism and other fields.

Third, the two sides should maintain close coordination in multilateral areas, and add new dimensions to the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future in the new era. It is important to continue carrying forward the Bandung Spirit, uphold true multilateralism, and make global governance fairer and more equitable. China is ready to work with Indonesia to actively act on the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative at bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels.

Joko Widodo asked Li Qiang to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, saying that the Indonesia-China comprehensive strategic partnership has yielded fruitful results in recent years. Indonesia thanks China for firmly supporting Indonesia's role as the rotating chair of ASEAN and for maintaining ASEAN centrality. Indonesia stays committed to the one-China principle, and stands ready to work with China to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture and fisheries, infrastructure, digital economy, new energy, tourism, health care and other fields, and advance "Two Countries, Twin Parks" and other strategic cooperation projects to elevate bilateral relations to a new height. Indonesia will continue carrying forward the Bandung Spirit, and stands ready to make joint efforts with China to promote regional cooperation and maintain regional peace, stability and prosperity.

During the visit, the two sides signed multiple bilateral cooperation documents in such areas as industry, agriculture, fisheries, e-commerce, and scientific and technological innovation.

Prior to the talks, Joko Widodo held a grand welcoming ceremony for Li Qiang at the square of the Presidential Palace.

Wu Zhenglong, among others, was present at the above events.
